With its beautiful colors and crisp, cool air, fall is easily one of our favorite seasons. There are so many wonderful ways to enjoy the outdoors and all the natural beauty provided by the seasonal change! Whether you’re someone active and looking for an activity that gets the blood pumping, or someone looking for a more leisurely option, we’ve got you covered with our favorite fall activities on our fall fun list!
The slight drop in temperatures make for the ideal hiking weather. Grab a light jacket and hit the path with your beau for a fun afternoon surrounded by nature. The views at the end of a hike are reward enough, but if you’re lucky enough to live in an area that fully experiences fall in all of its glory, your view will be even more breathtaking with all of the colors of the changing leaves!
Easily combined with a fall hike, or enjoyable on its own, we love ourselves a good picnic! Head to a nearby park or conservation area to lay out and enjoy a nice quiet afternoon date. Fill your basket with finger sandwiches, fruits, and some yummy desserts. Bring along some pillows and extra blankets to snuggle up under after your feast and soak up your beautiful surroundings.
We love the excitement of heading to an orchard or field to pick your own apples and pumpkins! While apple picking tends to be an early fall event and pumpkin picking tends to come later in the season, there’s no reason you can’t participate in both. While picking your own may cost slightly more than buying from the grocery store, there’s nothing quite like taking a bite out of an apple fresh from the tree. And, we love carving (or painting!) our hand-picked pumpkins for Halloween. Plus, it gives you a great chance to create some fun new memories and seasonal traditions!
Now that you have your bag of fresh apples, come together in the kitchen to make something yummy! Did you see our fall dessert inspiration board? Everyone loves a good dessert! Try something new or stick to the classics like apple pie or apple crisp. Whatever you choose to make, you’re in for a fun afternoon together!
The colors of fall are what make it such a magical season. If you have the ability to, make sure you take some time to drive around and really appreciate all that the season has to offer! Plan a day trip around the area to find the brightest colors, or plan a road trip up to New England if you don’t have the full effect in your area. Not a fan of driving? There are tons of great foliage tours available in different areas, some are even on trains!
Who doesn’t love getting lost in a good corn maze? Keep it family friendly and fun by going during the day, or kick up the excitement level and find a haunted maze you can run through at night! There’s nothing like a good scare to get you in the Halloween mood. Bonus points if you can find a haunted corn maze and haunted hayride combo!
