While it’s easy to just throw Disney channel on the TV and plop them down, there are so many more fun way to keep them entertained that don’t involve technology! Here are some of our favorites:

Paper Tablecloths

This is just too fun! Lay out a paper tablecloth and some crayons and let the kids go to town. There’s more than enough space for them to fill and they can make their own creations, or work together for larger pictures. This will keep them going for hours.

Silly Putty and Play Doh

Two classics. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even make your own for them to play with. Have these out in addition to paper tablecloths and you’ll really create some fun. If they don’t know already, show them how silly putty can pull up the colors from their drawings! How cool?

Coloring Books

A little more conservative than a full table cloth, coloring books are also a viable option to have at the table. This also means you can put them away when it comes time to eat if you so choose and also allows each child to bring their drawings home with them, which a full tablecloth makes difficult.

Legos

Honestly, who doesn’t enjoy playing with Legos? Not just for boys, we all love building little buildings and things with Legos. Put some buckets overflowing with Legos on the table and the kids will be busy in no time! Leave them with some instructions or suggestions of things to build, or just let their imaginations run wild.

DIY Food

Why not involve the kids in their meal prep, too? We love make you own dinners! Whether it’s make your own pizza, building tacos, or sundaes for dessert, this is a really fun way to keep the kids entertained but also have them help out a bit. Didn’t you ever want to help make pizza when you were a kid? Imagine getting to decorate your own personal sized pizza with toppings… yum!
