Sick of the same old, same old date nights? Us too! With the beautiful summer weather getting ready to start turning into that crisp fall weather, we want to take advantage of soaking up that warmth before it’s all gone. With that in mind, our late summer date ideas all revolve around the same theme: being outside! Whether it’s a Friday night or Saturday afternoon, we have you covered with a range of fun options to do something new with your beau.

Fruit Picking

Who doesn’t love freshly picked fruit? There’s just something extra special when it comes to picking a blueberry off a push and popping it right into your mouth! Not a blueberry fan? No worries, you have plenty of options. At least here in MA, blueberries are picked from July until mid-August, peaches, nectarines, and pears from early August until mid-September, and raspberries from mid-August until late September. Jackpot! Bonus points for those couples who go home and bake a yummy treat with their pickings.

Hiking

There’s nothing like taking in that fresh mountain air! We love a good hike. It gets the blood pumping and the sweat dripping. Plus, you’re rewarded with stunning views at the end. Seriously, what’s better than that?! Pick a short or a long route, whatever suits your fancy. If you opt for a longer trek, pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the top before heading back down. Don’t forget your camera for some fun and scenic shots, too!

Batting Cages or Driving Range

Step it up from your usual mini golf game and go big! Either try out the driving range or go a different direction and scope out the batting cages. These are both fun activities that can give you some laughs. Work on technique and see who can hit the ball the furthest!

Flea Market

There are so many hidden gems to be found at flea markets. Here in Western Massachusetts, we get spoiled with the Brimfield Flea Market three times a year! Not to fear, there are plenty of other flea markets all over the place, lots going on on a weekly basis. Even if you’re not looking to buy anything, it can be fun to walk around and explore a flea market. Check out all the unique and beautiful antiques available and who knows, maybe you’ll end up bringing something home!
