One big step in planning your wedding is to also plan and design your registry. While there are many useful sites out there to help you with your registry check list, it is also important to decide on which type of registry platform best suits you: Home goods, Honeymoon, or Charity Donations!
In need of some new kitchenware or towels? One of the most common registry platforms is a home goods registry where the couple is able to create a list of items for their home (either current or future home together) that their guests can purchase. This is a great way to decorate and get those home essentials that may be out of your budget after your big day!
Another common registry platform is charity donations. If you and your significant other have a charity or two that you cherish, have your guests contribute donations instead of giving gifts! As they say, nothing gives more than the gift of giving!
Instead of having guests bring gifts for your home, having a honeymoon registry is a great way for your guests to contribute to your travel funds! Aside from cash to fund the honeymoon, there are many options for travel gifts, such as the plane tickets, booking a dinner for the two of you, or reserving a spot in a snorkeling class or tour! Having a honeymoon registry will take the stress out of some planning, and you can focus more on your wedding day!
Registry alert! Blogger Joy Cho has released her Oh Joy collection for Target and we want it all! Her spring 2017 line is everything you want spring to be and its a great way to keep cheery during these winter months! Bold graphic designs bring a fun element to your home's design. Burst of vibrant colors down to a OMG vase, this collection is a must have.
Yay! You're engaged and now it's time to start planning! Your wedding day is a day that you are surrounded by your friends and family including having people stand by you as you make this commitment. Being a bridesmaid is an exciting role to play in a wedding, but it also is time and money commitment that you are asking them to make, so why not show your appreciation from the start.
Here are our favorite ways to ask the big question and get your bridesmaids excited about the wedding and all the exciting events that come with it!
We love custom gift baskets! They are a great way to present your bridesmaids with a gift filled with goodies. We love when the baskets are mixed with items for the bridesmaids to use in their everyday lives but also items that represent your wedding.
Can't ask in person? We suggest going old school and write a letter. Checking the mailbox to find a sweet note in that pile of bills is always a nice surprise! Since we love all things Rifle Paper Co. paper goods, we suggest popping the questions in a beautiful note card! Best part of writing a letter? It becomes a keepsake for your friend as a reminder of how strong and supportive your friendship is.
What better way to pop the question then with Rose! Or even better, Rose with a personal message! Veuve Clicquot Rose in Clicq'Call Box, allows you to record your message to your bestie. Cheers to a fun journey to the alter, filled with love, laughter and many a night of wine and DIYing!
Giving a gift that is personalized shows the recipient that you took the time to create something just for them. We love the idea of custom totes. These tote bags are great for everyday use but also to carry essential items around on the wedding day.
The holidays are just around the corner! Have you started your shopping? If you are looking to gift something more personal, we have rounded up our favorite DIY holiday gift ideas. From the hostess to your bestie we have the perfect idea for you. Cheers to a weekend of DIYing and hot chocolate!

Our #newestobsession is gift boxes! On the hunt for a gift that can express how grateful you are to your friends and family for taking part in your wedding? Custom gift boxes are the answer! Here is our round up for your viewing pleasure. Start pinning!
We wanted to learn more about the process of making these gorgeous gift boxes so we want to the source. We were lucky enough to hear from Torrance Hart, founder of Teak and Twine.
PV: How did you start Teak & Twine? What was your inspiration?
TH: My journey to Teak & Twine was less about a "eureka!" moment and more like a series of small realizations. I spent the last eight years in the Air Force. I loved it, but I think I always secretly kept one eye open for something I could dive into both as a wannabe entrepreneur and as a wannabe creative.
I started thinking about how the internet had made gifting easy, but had taken a lot of the personalization and love out of it. I am also a branding and packaging junkie, and I got the idea to create gifts where the packaging of each element fit together with the rest of the contents to create a unified aesthetic. The more I thought about these two ideas, the more I started thinking that crazy-seeming question:"how about me?"
A year later, we have had the honor of creating over 3,000 gifts for our wonderful clients; not only wedding welcome gifts that tell the story of a couple and a location, but client gifts for photographers and planners, corporate gifts, and special occasion gifts for clients to express everything from "congratulations!" to "I'm thinking of you."
PV: How do you help your clients design custom gift boxes? Where is the best place to start?
TH: My team and I love working with our clients to ensure that each gift is a perfect reflection of the event, the relationship, and the recipient. When working with a professional on a custom client gift, we love hearing about your branding, the mood and emotions behind your brand, where you are from or usually work, and what your clients are like. When we are making a gift for a client's friends or family, we ask about the recipients' favorite colors, scents, hobbies and places- anything that might help us get a feel for that person and what they love. We want each element we pick to be something that is going to be treasured, enjoyed, and make the gift feel like it was created especially for them!
PV: What's your favorite part of designing?
TH: Our business is somewhat unique in that almost 100% of our clients are purchasing something for someone other than themselves. It is such a pleasure to work with folks who come to us from such a place of generosity and gratitude. Our favorite thing to hear is: "Wow, that gift is so my mom!" or "You really captured my brand perfectly." I also love being a part of a surprise-it is SO exciting and rewarding!
Tiffany Becker Williams began her business in Eastern MA as a hobby, creating small wedding favors. From beeswax candles to body scrubs and succulent plants, Aud + El products are made with minimal ingredients to promote maximum luxury.
My personal favorite? The Aud + El Pink Coconut Body Scrub; strong enough to give a deep exfoliation while remaining super moisturizing. This scrub leaves my skin feeling buttery smooth, working amazingly to exfoliate my legs in preparation for some beach-day fun!
4 Steps to a Perfect Shave ft. Aud + El
Step 1 – Steam
Always leave shaving last on your showering to-do list. In order to prep you legs and soften the skin and hair follicle, allow the steam from the hot water to do the work for you for at least 7 minutes before shaving.
Step 2 – Scrub
Using your hand to work in circular motions, slowly exfoliate your legs using Aud + El’s Pink Coconut Body Scrub. The salt from the scrub will exfoliate all dead skin from your legs, giving you a perfectly close shave. Wash away the leftover scrub using warm water as the coconut oil works to moisturize your skin.
Step 3 – Shave
Using a 5-blade razor, begin to shave with slow, vertical strokes against hair growth. Make sure your razor is sharp, as using a dull razor makes you more prone to getting knicks, cuts and ingrown hairs.
Step 4 – Moisturize
After hopping out of the shower, be sure to moisturize with a gentle, unscented moisturizer. Moisturizers with harsh smells and chemicals are more likely to aggravate the skin. I love using a little bit of organic coconut oil to give me a silky smooth finish!
Voilá, the perfect shave!

For a pretty presentation, we decided to add a bit of etched glass detail to our bottle.

- Paint etching cream onto stencil, making sure to apply a thick coat.
- Pull the stencil, and allow it to sit for about ten minutes.
- Rinse with warm water.
Going to someone's house for Thanksgiving? Make sure you don't show up empty handed! This easy DIY is a great way to say "thank you".
- acrylic paint
- brass thumbtacks
- tall drinking glass
Using the rim of the glass, mark a ring around the top of the pumpkin.
Carve out the pumpkin, following your pencil line, and scoop out the insides.
Paint the pumpkin. Make sure you use two coats.
Once dried, pencil out your thumbtack design. Use the same tacking techniques from our earlier DIY Gold Accent post.
Place the glass in the pumpkin, fill it with water, and place your flowers inside. Easy as pie!
