Whether you have reservations for a fancy dinner or you’re grabbing a casual brunch this Valentine’s Day, there’s tons of trendy directions you can take your outfit in this year! Blush is super in right now, so add the tone into your look! Mix a classy white blouse up with an adorable pink peacoat and some light-wash boyfriend jeans. The distressed look is so on trend right now, but if you want to dress it up a little, opt for more classy accessories, like blush booties and some dainty rings. If you’ll be spending the night outside, add a knit scarf or beanie to stay warm and cozy!

Try out a red or pink satin top with the same distressed denim if you want to get a little bit more festive. Layer some simple necklaces for an elegant and classy touch against the denim, and style your hair with some tousled beach waves and a messy braid. The unexpected textures make for an original and charming look that’ll definitely impress.

If your date night plans involve something a little more elaborate, skip the plain dress and step out in something bolder. Slip on a little black dress with embroidered rose details, or pick up something with a flirty pattern, like pin-stripes or anything floral. A timeless pair of red heels and an oversized wrap coat will tie everything together effortlessly! Don’t be afraid to mix a little pop of red in with your pink, or vice versa. It’s a holiday after all, and the combo looks adorable! Make a bigger statement with your pink outfit with a bold red lip or red tassel earrings, or add an extra Valentine’s touch with a pink mani-pedi!

The Jewel Tone Story

When thinking about this concept, we were inspired to mix the old with the new. The gardens and architecture of this late 1800s historical home nestled in the heart of Amherst, Massachusetts, created a simple but elegant backdrop to allow our deep beautiful jewel tones to take center stage.

Our vision for this beautiful shoot was to showcase a deep modern jewel tone palette and embrace a balance of the classic surroundings and the rich modern romance. We created a bold design with hues of pinks, purples, greens and blues, a palette that we accented with the mixture of vintage details and modern touches.

From the modern invitation suite with its geometric shapes and bold colors to the ombre guest seating we were inspired by this beautiful balance of classic and modern.

Graduation Style

Happy graduation season! Whether you’re graduating high school or college, be sure to walk the stage in style! Here are some of our favorite styles for this season’s hottest graduation trends.

Nothing says classic graduation like a crisp white dress! Go for the elegant, simple dress, or opt for a more fun and flirt option with some gorgeous back detail or lace.

Give your fellow classmates that “wow” factor as you walk by in a bold color! Whether it’s hot pink, bright yellow, or turquoise, you’ll be sure to be the center of attention as you get your diploma.

Nothing says spring and summer more than a patterned dress! Wearing a gorgeous floral or patterned dress to your graduation will brighten your day as well as everyone else’s.

Pop of Pink!

In true Parsimony Vintage fashion, here are some tips on how to capture this look yourself!

For this look we chose a girly #swoonworthy color palette of pinks and purples. A great way to bring in some style to your reception venue is opting for a color linen. Having a base of color really brightens a room and helps create a mood. And as with most things we love, your wallet won't take a hit! Most standard rental companies will provide a solid color linen for about 2.00 more than a white or cream rental. A lot of style for a great price!

Add paper details! Bring personality and detail to your reception by adding custom paper products. Custom doesn't always need to mean expensive. Can't afford to have a custom menu card at each place setting? Why not opt to have just one or two in stands at each table? Add beautifully designed table number for an extra element of style. These simple additions range from 1.00 to 3.00 a print, so your dollar delivers a lot of style. Be sure to check out Parsimony Vintage's Paper Goods Shoppe and buy your paper details today!

Is your favorite flower peony? Yup, ours too. Depending on the season, some blooms will be more expensive depending on how far your floral provider has to go to get the out of season blooms. Don't be discouraged! Try having your florist incorporate some silk flowers into your bouquet or centerpieces. This is a great way to incorporate your favorite flowers without having to go over budget, or skimp on other important elements of your day. Best part is that you can collect any silk flowers that were used during your big day and make an arrangement that you can appreciate in your home everyday. Waste not, want not, we always say!

Pop of Pink is a young, fresh and fun concept, so go to town pinning and get one step closer to your big day's style.
