Mini Zen Garden

Have you ever seen a mini zen garden? They’re so cute! Use the little shovel or rake to smooth out the sand or make fun patterns. This may sound silly, but trust us, it works! It takes your mind off of things for a few moments and lets you focus on something small and relaxing. As an added bonus, it looks really pretty as a desk decoration, too!

Stress Ball

Tried and true, we love a good stress ball. Sometimes just having something to squeeze can take some of that stress and overwhelm away. Pick one that is fun to play with. You can squeeze it, knead it, poke it… whatever helps you! There’s a reason that stress balls have been around for so long. If you don’t want to go out and buy one, there are tons of DIY versions you can make at home yourself.

Meditation

Do you have a meditation app? We love ours! Personally, we use the Calm app, which we’ve previously discussed how much we love. If you share a small space and don’t want to worry about someone hearing your guided meditation, simply take five minutes to close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Clear your mind of everything else and just breath. Meditation is an extremely powerful tool once you get the hang of it! So if you’re having a hard time really clearing your mind in the beginning, just keep trying or give a guided meditation a try for some more structure.

Mini Diffuser

Essential oils are great. There are so many calming and soothing oils that really help relax you in stressful times. If you’re in a location where you can bring in your own mini diffuser, we highly recommend it! This will give your space a different feel and could drastically increase your mood and reduce your stress levels. If you can’t have a diffuser, bring some oils with you and when you start to feel stressed or overwhelmed, dab a drop on your wrist so you can still have the scent close by.

Coloring Book

Adult coloring books are our jam. Proven to be a great therapeutic tool, this gives you something to really focus on, as well as a creative outlet. Take a few minutes to fill in a page, or continue working on the same one throughout the day. Just a few minutes can make a huge difference. Plus, at the end, you have a beautiful piece of artwork you’ve created that you can use to decorate your office space with!

Take a Walk!

If all else fails, get up and take a five minute walk. Getting the blood pumping and getting out of the space might just be the key needed to hitting the refresh button and dropping those stress levels. Sometimes all you can do is walk away and take a quick breather to regroup. There’s nothing wrong with that! At the end of the day, your mental health is key and you need to do what it takes to keep yourself feeling happy and healthy.
